My Father Held A Gun - a passionate storytelling show with live cinematic music about war and peace, acts of heroism and the love for life.
Storytellers Sahand Sahebdivani (Storyteller of the year 2014) and Raphael Rodan are close friends who come from enemy countries: Iran and Israel. In My Father Held a Gun they decide to confront their past, being the sons of men who lived through wars and revolutions. Do they measure up to the examples that were set by those who came before them? They realize that if life had taken a slightly different direction their fathers would have been aiming their guns at each other. How will this realization effect their friendship?
Sahebdivani and Rodan toured Europe with the successful storytelling show Kingdom of Fire and Clay, in which they dived into the lives of their mothers and their animosity as an Israeli and an Iranian. For My Father Held A Gun they are joined by musical wizards Iman Spaargaren (clarinet, saxophone) and Guillermo Celano (guitar, loops and effects). Spaargaren and Celano present an interactive, cinematic music score that intensifies the stories of war and peace.
