The trio of trumpet player Dirk Beets, saxophonist and Iman Spaargaren and guitarist Mark Tuinstra deliberately wallows in idiosyncratic compositions by using a wide range of sounds and textures. The music of the trio ranges from lyrical chamber music to raw punk and from sensitive free compositions to humorous escapades with respect for and knowledge of the jazz tradition. Intense interplay of the three team players creates crystal clear storylines, passionate solos and makes use of space in this unusual line-up in an organic way.
