The new trio of trumpet player Dirk Beets, saxophonist and bass clarinettist Iman Spaargaren and guitarist Mark Tuinstra deliberately wallows in idiosyncratic compositions by using a wide range of sounds and textures. The music of the trio ranges from lyrical chamber music to rawpunk and from sensitive free compositions to humorous escapades with respect for andknowledge ofthe jazz tradition.
